about

All these tracks were made as part of a challenge to make one track a day for the month of January. Some were made quickly before or after work, some are experiments made with specific limitations, and some (read: most) were just made for a daft laugh.

Overall, after trying to make more carefully thought-out “concept albums” with Notanymore and The Detective is Dead; it was fun to be less planned and more instinctual in a way that reminded me of messing around with recording and production for the first time as a teenager. The result is kind of all over the shop genre-wise and influence-wise, in a way that I hope is (or wish was) kind of like Boards of Canada's “Old Tunes” tapes or the really early lo-fi home-recorded albums by people like Beck, and The Microphones, etc. that made me want to start making music in the first place.
