A missing cat changes everything. Over the course of six tracks, an ordinary small town suburb mutates into a gnarled labyrinth of hiding places; and the most beautiful day of the summer starts to feel far stranger, far more ominous. The sad fact is that this mystery may never find a solution – but there's always tomorrow, I guess.

Two tracks completed shortly in the wake of Mute Branches' 2020 album 'The Detective is Dead' set the foundation for this EP: a similar exploration of a complex and frightening world through uncertain perspectives, which draws as much on the foreboding nostalgia of Boards of Canada as it does on the vivid worlds conjured up by video game soundtracks.
